Alcohol Rehab Program

The development of Alcoholism can be subtle and slow, or quick and drastic. Some people can enjoy a drink of alcohol with dinner, or at a bar, but others cannot stop their consumption after they begin to feel the effects of the alcohol. The alcoholic craves the effect produced by alcohol. A person can become an alcoholic at any age and at any time. It does not necessarily take large quantities of alcohol over long periods of time to become an alcoholic. It is possible that a person could begin drinking at 21 years old and become a full-blown alcoholic within a couple of weeks. When this happens to people, it is usually because alcoholism and addiction runs in their family. Situations like these provide evidence to the biological basis of addiction and alcoholism.
Most people have some understanding of what a 12-step program entails, but at the NTS Rehab Program we make sure that each client gains a working knowledge of the 12 Steps. During the first 30 Days of treatment, every client is required to work through our Step Workbook, which guides the client through the first four steps of the 12 Step program.
Many treatment facilities use a 12-step program as the foundation of their treatment curriculum, but at NTS we have developed a structured method of taking every client through the first four steps of the 12 Step Program by having them complete the NTS Step Workbook. In addition to the Step Workbook, clients attend two 12 Step meetings per day. We emphasize the importance of obtaining outside support from the local 12 Step recovery community. Many of our clients obtain 12 Step Sponsors at these meetings, and advancement in our program requires clients to be working with a sponsor by the end of their first two weeks.
