NTS is a probation approved treatment facility, but there are many treatment facilities in Orange County that are not probation approved. We have both inpatient, extended care treatment, and outpatient treatment, which is rare for an Orange County probation approved addiction treatment facility. Most drug rehabs in Orange County do not like to go through the process of becoming probation approved. Others do not care to attract probationers. It is our experience that probationers in treatment tend to function at a higher level than those who do not necessarily have to be in treatment. Almost no one wants to go to treatment or goes to treatment willingly. In one way or another, almost everyone who enters drug and alcohol treatment is pushed or shoved in. I was gently pushed into treatment. Once I got there I was fine, but still, I was pushed. People who are forced to go to drug treatment by the judicial system have extra motivation behind their treatment episode. People who are forced to go to drug treatment by the judicial system must complete treatment according to the treatment facility's standards of completion, or go to jail.
