Transitioning back into the "real world" after being in drug treatment is sometimes a difficult task. The best sober living programs will guide a client back in to the real world by helping them find a job, find a living situation, and transportation. An addiction treatment program should also set up a thorough aftercare treatment program. The aftercare program should include AA meetings, support groups, and an alumni contact person in the client's hometown, if he or she is returning home. Transitioning out of treatment can be a scary experience and at NTS we try and make the transition as seamless as possible. Clients who discharge from the program and live in the local Orange County area often come by to check-in with their former case manager or the NTS staff in general just to let us know how they are doing, or to get some extra help. We welcome all alumni to come by the NTS main center to check-in whenever they feel like it and especially if they need help. NTS offers transitional living options and outpatient options for people who need to still be connected to NTS after they complete our more intensive programs. Our transitional program allows clients to live in a minimally monitored environment and go to work during the day or night. Our outpatient treatment program is three nights a week and offers a home away from home for those who have discharged from one of NTS's primary programs.

Transitional sober living is great especially for women. It's good to see people back to the "real world" after their treatment.
