For Educational Consultants

National Therapeutic Services is experienced in working with Educational Consultants. Educational Consultants often refer clients to us who have graduated from therapeutic boarding schools, or need help with their academic planning and success. We update the educational consultants we work with on a regular basis and work with the families to help them along in the educational and addiction treatment process. The NTS Academy, located in Orange County, California, can help facilitate transferring from one institution to another as well as help high school graduates get started with their college careers.

NTS

Oftentimes people come directly into the NTS Academy from a Therapeutic Boarding School in the Newport Beach area. Entering the NTS Academy directly from a Therapeutic Boarding School has proven to be a seamless transition for clients in need of an extended care environment. We make the transition from high school to college as effortless as possible. We start clients out with general education classes that will help them work towards transferring. We also help first time college students navigate the difficult and often complicated college terrain.

Who Is Appropriate?

  • Students who need their GED or High School Diploma and who are 18 Years Old or nearing their 18th birthday.
  • Students with a history of psychological or learning disabilities.
  • Students with Traumatic Brain Injuries.
  • Students with a history of substance abuse.
  • Students who have been to previous colleges or Universities, but had difficulty succeeding.

If you are an Educational Consultant, please feel free to contact us for more information about our therapeutic college academy.

What is an Educational Consultant?

Educational Consultants help families find the right school or college for their children. Educational Consultants are often utilized to help troubled teens and young adults in finding treatment and therapeutic boarding schools. An educational consultant plays a vital role in helping families find the right kind of treatment. The best place to find a qualified educational consultant is through the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).

What We Do:

Educational Evaluation: When a client is ready to enter the NTS Academy we begin with an educational evaluation, to help identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as educational objectives, choices, and plans. Our Academic Director conducts a thorough educational evaluation with each student who enters the program to determine the person's progress in treatment, stability, and potential school schedule.

Testing: We administer an Enhanced Career Inventory test to each client who enters our program. The results of this test are useful in helping the student determine what they might want their career to be. Our Educational Director reviews the results with each client. When appropriate, our psychologists might recommend more academic and psychological testing to further develop a student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as determine if any learning disabilities present.

Contact: The NTS Academy Staff will work with the educational consultant and the client's family to consider the full range of educational possibilities, and provide a broad selection of pertinent information for consideration in regards to treatment and future schooling.
