Well indeed I found one and I drove her and a woman I sponsor to an ice cream shop right around the corner from Newport Beach. This new member was eating her ice cream and mentioned that she plays a little bit of guitar and piano so I said, “You should come over to my house and jam with me and my sister.” <br/>She said, “Oh yeah that would be awesome! What do you play?” <br/>I said, “I sing.” <br/>She mentioned that she sings but is really afraid of singing in front of people. She asked me how I got over my fear of singing for people, I thought for a minute. The only answer I could come up with was the 12 Steps. <br/>The point is that the 12 Steps help my “me” problem too. The steps are a path to self-discovery and freedom from fear of people, places, things, and situations. I personally have abused Soma only when I was completely unable to get a hold of narcotics or other drugs. Unlike some other anonymous texts the SLAA book discusses several addictions in the anonymous stories located in the back of the book. Each addict shared his/her struggle with addiction and often times include how another addiction, beside sex or love, have interrupted his/her wellness. The SLAA stories share experiences on sex, love, food, gambling, drinking, and using drugs. If you suffer from more than one addiction it can be difficult to arrest one without taking care of another as well.
