Northbound is committed to serving families and individuals who have difficulty affording our services. We always find a way to get the individual the treatment they need. We can arrange payment schedules and apply for scholarships with several non-profit foundations affiliated with us.
Financial Assistance is available for those who qualify. Below are some key points to remember:
- We work with a variety of independent lending organizations
- Loans can cover tuition, including transportation to and from the program
- There are multiple loan products with competitive rates
- Interest rates are currently at historic lows
- It is possible to qualify for deferral of interest for up to 6 months with no prepayment penalties or cancellation fees
With many loan companies to choose from and because the loan qualification and application process can be confusing, we will walk you through the process. We will direct you to right companies who work with many families and individuals each year and help guide them through the loan process. For instance, the professionals at Clark Behavioral Health Financing can advise you even if you don’t personally qualify for a loan; they will advise you in ways to qualify, including adding a co-signer or considering credit repair. Once pre-approval has been achieved, the entire process can be completed in about 5 business days.
- 6 months interest-free option

Northbound is a private-pay facility and is out-of-network with all insurance carriers. PPO insurance plans typically cover our services. After a full verification of benefits and clinical assessment has been completed, Northbound is able to determine what would be required as an out-of-pocket expense to the member. In some cases we are able to accept insurance as partial or full payment for services.
Alternate agreements can potentially be arranged through your insurance carrier through single case agreements on a case-by-case basis.
If we are unable to accept insurance as payment from your carrier, we will work with your carrier to ensure the maximum amount will be reimbursed back to you as allowed under your plan up to the total quoted cost of treatment. Our insurance billing department is able to give you, to the best of our knowledge, a general expectation of reimbursement amounts prior to admission.
