30 Day Primary Treatment

Primary Treatment 30-Day

Our 30-Day program is designed to create a solid foundation for a successful recovery from alcoholism and other addictions. Our nationally-recognized treatment center offers a comprehensive and 12-step integrated mind-body-spirit approach to the treatment of drug and alcohol addictions and co-occurring disorders. Our 30-day intensive, inpatient program best suits those individuals who:

  • Drink or use compulsively
  • Live in a destructive environment
  • Suffer from severe stress in their day-to-day life
  • A danger to their self or others

We succeed where other attempts at sobriety have failed. Our clients are treated with respect and dignity and our goal is the comprehensive healing of all disorders. Clients work the 12-Step treatment program and focus on underlying issues fueling their addiction. A series of assessments and a thorough individualized treatment plan provide the groundwork for immediate healing.

Each client receives more than 40 hours a week of individual and group therapy and all of our therapists hold a masters degree or higher in their respective disciplines. Each client is matched to a therapist who specializes in a treatment modality that best serves the client. Treatment modality specialties include but are not limited to:

  • Cognitive behavior therapy
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Motivational enhancement therapy
  • Transformational Therapies

During this phase of recovery, the focus is on gaining insight into the destructive attitudes and behaviors that lead to treatment failure. The goal is to begin controlling the symptoms, reduce isolation, and increase social connections so therapeutic paths can begin to help.

The 30-day treatment program is intensive inpatient treatment. What this means is that clients will be completing Phase I of our three-phase treatment system. In the first week of Phase I the client undergoes a psychiatric evaluation to address any co-occurring or substance-induced mood disorders. Since the majority of our patients have a co-occurring mental health disorder, such as anxiety or depression, National Therapeutic Services provides a clinically-integrated approach that treats any mental health issues at the same time as the addiction treatment. Clients live in supervised housing and staff takes clients to all scheduled therapy.

Why We Succeed

One of the differences at National Therapeutic Services is the therapeutic alliances that develop. These alliances include relationships with peers, counselors, staff, and world-class therapists. The overall culture at Living Sober promotes relationships that are honest and open. In primary care, emphasis is placed on educational workshops and individual and group therapy sessions. Phase I/primary care is a comprehensive program customized to cover the physical, psychological and socio-cultural needs of the client. Where other treatment centers plug the client into an existing track, Living Sober creates a highly customized program for each and every client.

Clients in primary care are housed in a variety of living arrangements, according to gender, age and personal issues. Clients engage in their treatment process by working with the staff to define realistic treatment goals. Key to the process is the client’s primary therapist, who is in charge of developing a program tailored to support the client’s recovery. This means assisting in identifying and understanding the defense mechanisms that support addiction, and facilitating the self-exploration of the consequences of addictive behaviors. Common concerns addressed are mood swings, impulsivity, low self-esteem and delayed or distorted identity. Clients also learn how to cope with depression and anxiety. As they progress through the first 30 days, clients often report feeling truly healed.

Genuine Healing

Healing comes from developing skills and working with highly trained therapists so that cleints return to their families in a healthy emotional state. One client shared, “I’d been to three different treatment centers in three years, but at Living Sober I really bonded with my therapist and was able to really open my heart during the family weekend.” In some cases, the client seeks treatment after leaving a living situation where substance abuse was the norm and domestic discord was prevalent. Another client shared, “I learned that getting well yourself is not enough. You can’t control other people, but you can choose who you live with and how you live.”

Research Based

At Living Sober, we follow the latest research to provide gender-specific primary care. For instance, women in recovery may deal with unique issues such as diminishment of their reproductive systems or other related health problems. A woman with a co-occurring disorder or a disordered eating history is also more likely to have been abused, and the peer support available in gender-specific treatment is amazing. Our recognition of the special needs of men and women has led to treatment tracks that meet these gender-based needs:

  • Individualized programs for men and women
  • Expertise in treating addiction and mental health issues that accompany this disease
  • On-going services that support lifelong recovery
  • Educational programs for families

When individuals are suffering at acute levels, addiction has gotten so bad that they have become a danger to themselves or their loved ones. They need to be in a place where they can be safe. Our residential rehab program provides the level of safety so that the healing can begin.
